Beer Alert: New Rice Lagers And Cold India Pale Ales

July will soon be a memory and American craft brewers are celebrating summer’s eventual end with an ever-changing roster of beers that suit the season.

Like Drinking A Sunset  – Tucked away just a few blocks from the San Diego pier, you’ll find a beer oasis. The Stone Brewing Tap Room – Oceanside the brewery’s oldest satellite location (est. 2012). To commemorate 10 years of this coastal hideaway, the Stone team devised a beer that’s just as laid-back yet vibrant as O’side itself.

Available only at Stone’s seven brewpub locations, but well worth the trip, Stone O’side Oasis is an 8.9% ABV Cold IPA that’s as unexpected as the brewery’s hideaway setting. Brewed in the “Cold IPA” style – that is, lager-inspired but hopped out of its mind, it’s refreshingly easy-drinking thanks to flaked rice & corn in the grain bill, and a combo of pellet & cryo Mosaic hops plus Stone’s own sponsored HBC 843.

Get Lucky (Bend, OR) – 10 Barrel Brewing has a new addition to its year-round portfolio that’s a West Coast take on a Japanese classic, that is finally seeing wider distribution.

Now receiving a national launch after earning well-deserved reputation as a taproom fav, 10 Barrel Money Cat (best beer name  ever!) is a 4.8% ABV Japanese-inspired Rice Lager, a crisp amalgamation of subtle sweetness, mild bitterness, moderate carbonation and a low, floral hop aroma.

A Hazy That Won’t Muddy Your Head (Sausalito, CA) – With more craft breweries than ever before, brewing serious non-alcoholic beer, ACB has expanded our coverage to include new NA beers that matter. And Best Day Brewing has a Hazy IPA that absolutely nails the style.

Brimming with smooth yet complex notes and tropical hop tones, Best Day Brewing’s buzz-free Hazy IPA  could not be more convincing. And we promise you you’ll never find a more flavorful non-alcoholic Hazy IPA with only 53 calories.
