A recent survey conducted by Lucky Saint found that UK consumers are now more open to non-alcoholic beer options when drinking out.

Here’s the deal…

Just as in the US, bars and restaurants are reopening in the UK. And as part of addressing these re-openings (as well as to promote the viability of its non-alcoholic brand) Lucky Saint conducted a survey which found that consumers are getting serious about the buzz-less option.

A Censuswide survey, conducted between March 30 and April 4 on behalf of Lucky Saint, found that nearly a third respondents would now “consider an alcohol-free drink in bars, pubs, and/or restaurants on any weekday or weekend evening.”

, Demand For Alcohol-Free Beer On The Rise In UKOne fifth (20%) of men and over a quarter (27%) of women surveyed agree they would consider alcohol-free drinks as the lockdowns lift.

Of the people who stated “that they would drink less if there were more alcohol-free options available in bars and pubs,” 22% cited the lack of availability in general as what was stopping them. And 39% of respondents under the age of 45 specifically referred to the lack of availability of alcohol-free beer on draught as an overriding issue.

26% of the people surveyed stated that they want to drink less due to “concerns for their mental and physical health.” And surprisingly those concerns weren’t confined to just the younger beer fans, but shared by all age groups, ranging from 18 to 55+.

Of those respondents who stated that they would choose alcohol-free beer options when drinking out, 20% said that they were looking to moderate/give up drinking in order to avoid hangovers.

The survey, which comes at a time bars, pubs, and restaurants are restocking their venues, post-lockdown strongly indicates that consumers are more open to non-alcoholic beer options than before COVID-19 hit. Especially alcohol-free beers on draft.

Founded by Luke Boase in 2019, Lucky Saint joins a growing number of breweries in the United Kingdom committed to brewing high quality alcohol-free beers that don’t corners or muddy the head.

Describing its product as “unfiltered, uncompromising and unapologetic” Lucky Saint argues that it doesn’t taste like an alcohol-free beer because it’s not brewed like one…

”We left no stone unturned looking for a unique way to brew better. From our step mash technique and wort run-off to fermentation and dry hopping, we honed the process for each of our beers in pursuit”
