The final season of the uber-popular Game of Thrones series is returning on April 14th and HBO has ensured that viewers will have the appropriate drinks to calm their nerves and fill their goblets.

Game of Thrones Beer

Brewery Ommegang and HBO’s will cap their multi-beer partnership that dates back to 2013 with something as adventurous as Game of Throne’s final season.

According to Brewery Ommegang president Doug Campbell that its latest GOT beer For The Throne, which launches nationwide at the beginning of April, is a direction they’d never attempted before….

“Winter is here, the wall has fallen, and the final battle for Westeros is underway. With this offering, we have bent the traditional boundaries of beer-making, co-fermenting traditional ingredients with juices normally destined for fine wines, going to great lengths to create a truly unique, special beer.”

“This style of beer, often called an ‘oenobeer,’ is a rapidly expanding area of study for us. For The Throne is our first of co-fermentation beer of 2019, and the only one we’ve launched under the Game of Thrones banner.”’

Co-fermented with pinot grigio and viognier grape juices, and bottle-conditioned with Champagne yeast Ommegang For The Throne is a 9.5% Golden Ale that the brewery contends is “fit for kings.”

Game of Thrones Wine

Wine Enthusiast’s 2011 “Winemaker of the Year” Bob Cabral, reportedly a big fan of the show, has created the three wines you might want swill as forces determine the ultimate fate of the seven kingdoms…

According to the   Vintage Wine Estates website , there’s a red wine blend (Paso Robles, California), a Chardonnay (Central Coast, California), and a Pinot Noir (Willamette Valley, Oregon) that “match the strength of the characters and the terrain of their kingdoms.”
