AMERICAN CRAFT BEER’S SAVORY WEEKEND PICKS

AMERICAN CRAFT BEER’S SAVORY WEEKEND PICKS

|June 1st, 2018|

Hey it’s Friday…June’s arrived and you’re in need of some serious fun. Well good, because we’ve got this! From the nation’s coolest beer events, to movies, music and cutting edge TV – we’ve got you covered.  Plus we’ve another weekend beer pick for you, because we know you’ll be drinking.

SAVOR This Weekend (Washington, DC) – SAVOR, the nation’s premier craft beer and food pairing event returns to the Nation’s Capital this weekend for two exciting evenings (June 1st and 2nd) of serious food and drink.

Washington’s spectacular National Building Museum will once again be home to this one-of-a-kind extravaganza that brings together thousands of passionate craft beer and food lover for an exceptional culinary (and drinking) experience.

Returning for its 11th year, 2018’s SAVOR will feature 90 of the nation’s most sensational craft breweries, (the most ever to attend this event!), and many of those breweries have never participated before, which is always exciting. And for a complete listing of every brewery that will be attending (and the beers they’ll be bringing) you’ll want to go HERE.

TV Time & Streaming – We’re currently binging on Legion, Noah Hawley’s brilliant X-Men spinoff that’s now in its second season on FX. Dan Stevens returns as David Haller, a troubled young man, diagnosed with schizophrenia as a child who grows to understand that he’s actually a mutant with tremendous abilities that he can barely comprehend. As visually spectacular as it is sometimes narratively dense, Legion is X-Men on acid.

On The Big Screen – This weekend’s most notable new movie opening is a science fiction/horror that was the talk of this year’s South by Southwest. Upgrade stars Marshall Green, (SPIDER-MAN, PROMETHEUS) as a paralyzed mugging victim approached by a billionaire inventor with an experimental cure that “upgrades” his body to superhuman mode and affords him the ability to seek vengeance against those who murdered his wife and left him for dead.

ACB WEEKEND BEER PICK

With the temperatures warming this weekend we’ll be tapping something new from SweetWater that was brewed with and for Building Conservation Trust, the Coastal Conservation Association’s National Habitat Program. Brewed using traditional Czech yeast and fermentation temperatures, SweetWater Twisted Fish Crystal Pilsner is a 5.3% ABV Czech Pils with a surprisingly herbal character and a commitment to saving the nation’s coastal waterways.
