4 ‘New Normal’ Craft Beers And Fall Favorites

These are no longer normal times…So again we ask, why drink something normal?

Darkness, Darkness (St Paul, MN) – Summit Brewing is returning an Unchained Series fav as part of its Fall House Party Variety Box and they’ve fine-tuned the recipe a bit to include cold-brew coffee from Minneapolis’ Big Watt Beverage. Originally intended as a one-time-only, limited-release beer, Summit Dark Infusion is a 6.8% ABV coffee-infused Imperial Milk Stout with lactose, cold-brewed coffee, and six different kinds of malts.

“While consistency is one of our main pillars at Summit, innovation is also a critical component to brewing,” Summit Head Brewer Damian McConn explained. “Since Dark Infusion Coffee Milk Stout started out as part of a series that was created specifically to push the envelope when it comes to ingredients, we felt it was important to continue to evolve the recipe.”

Locally Sourced (Portland, OR) – Von Ebert Brewing, the award-winning and locally owned brewing company, has released its latest, draft-only addition to its rich roster of lagers. Available now at Von Ebert Glendoveer, and making its way Von Ebert Pearl soon, Von Ebert 33 Stars is a 4.8% ABV is a crisp All-Oregon Lager that was brewed using hops and malts from the state’s Goschie Farms.

Charmed (Alameda, CA) – Almanac Beer has a new beer coming that according to the brewery falls “somewhere between a fruited sour and a hoppy IPA.” Complex and delicately balanced, Almanac Libra Charm is a 7.4% ABV Sour IPA that is aged on the ripest summer peaches apricots, cherries, nectarines and strawberries, before being dry-hopped with Sultana hops.

Blackberry Seasoned (Comstock Park, MI) – Michiganders know the juicy joys of tasting fresh, wild blackberries right from the vine. And that late summer berry has inspired the fall return Perrin Brewing favorite. First brewed in 2015, Perrin Blackberry IPA is a 5% ABV fresh berry-infused India Pale Ale which combines the tart sweetness of wild blackberries with an aromatic, floral bouquet of fresh Michigan bittering hops.
