Summer is ON and American craft brewers are celebrating its arrival with an uber-interesting roster of beers you’re gonna want to have around.
Brewed For Earth Day (Paso Robles, CA) – Firestone Walker Brewing celebrated Earth Day this year with a lager that’s now widely available, and made using all locally grown and sustainably made ingredients. Crisp, floral, and refreshing, Firestone Sunglider is a 5% ABV Helles-Style lager that honors the brewery’s commitment to both flavor and sustainability.
This beer is ALL about staying local.
Firestone Walker brewed Sunglider with Atlas malt, a historic six-row barley grown just down the road in Paso Robles.. The grain is floor-malted by Admiral Maltings in Alameda, preserving old-school methods and minimizing environmental impact. For hops, the brewery looked north to Oregon’s Goschie Farms for its Willamette and Hallertau Tradition hops .
As Firestone Walker Brewmaster, Matt Brynildson deftly put it “Sunglider is beer flavored beer, a modern nod to tradition, crafted with care and brewed with purpose.”

Prost! (White Plains, NY) – We only cover imported beers that we think can hold their own up against America’s best craft beers, and Paulaner USA imports a lager that’s undeniably world class. Credited for being one of the best German beers in the world , Paulaner Münchner Lager is a 4.9% ABV Bavarian original that’s the perfect balance of malty character and the light bitterness of hops
In developing this beer, the Paulaner brewmasters have perfected a unique technique with “yeast suspension,” resulting in a uniform, slightly cloudy appearance, consistent quality, and perfect taste.
A Wheat Beer Classic (White Plains, NY) – Again, wee only cover imported beers that we think can hold their own up against America’s best craft beers, and Paulaner USA imports an iconic Wheat Beer that many consider a masterpiece. The #1 wheat beer in Germany for good reason, Paulaner Hefe-Weizen is a 5.5% ABV Witbier that, we promise you, will not disappoint.
