Spring is ON and American craft brewers are addressing things with exciting new beers you’re gonna want to have around.
A Home Run (San Diego, CA) – In 2014, Tony Gwynn’s team asked AleSmith Brewing to create a distinctive beer for the baseball legend. The result was AleSmith .394 one of the brewery’s most smooth and approachable beers and now they’ve a new variation.
AleSmith Session .394 is a 4.9% ABV San Diego-style Session Pale Ale brewed with Mosaic and Citra hops giving it lovely notes of citrus and pineapple for an enjoyable drinking experience that transcends style boundaries. This crushable variation embodies Tony Gwynn’s original vision of a beer that is “light with a kick.
“I am so proud to continue honoring Tony Gwynn and his legacy with this new version of .394,” said Peter Zien, Owner and CEO of AleSmith Brewing Company. “Full-flavored yet light-bodied, this version is an easy-drinking rendition that embodies Tony’s original vision. It’s the perfect way to celebrate America’s favorite pastime in our hometown – San Diego!”

A 4/20 Day Classic (Petaluma, CA) – With Thursday being ‘4/20 Day,’ an unofficial, but increasingly national celebration of cannabis culture, we’ll be starting things with something appropriate from Lagunitas.
Brewed in honor of the mysterious Waldos, a group of longtime friends, then teenaged stoners, who bonded over the special 4:20 afterschool pot breaks, Lagunitas The Waldos’ Special Ale 11.7% Triple IPA “highly” limited release that’s as dank as the herb some will be pairing it with this week.
Witty (Portland, OR) – Breakside Brewery has a new addition to its year-round lineup that just might be the brewery’s most subtle and delicate packaged beer to date. A modern take on a classic European style, Breakside White is a 5.2% ABV Witbier soft notes of floral coriander, orange citrus, and lightly herbaceous and spicy hop character from Sterling, Hersbrucker, and Mt. Hood hops
