WEEKEND PICKS: London Craft Beer Festival, Scary Stories, Outside Lands 2019

|August 9th, 2019|

The London Craft Beer Festival Returns (United Kingdom)- The 2019 London Craft Beer Festival returns for three days of serious drinking this weekend  (Aug 9 -11) and it’s not to be missed. This is annual event, one of the best in England, signals the busy end of summer craft beer calendar in the United Kingdom.

More than 100 breweries from the UK, but also from the US, Italy, Spain, Sweden and more will be pouring their best at the 2019 London Craft Beer Festival. Not to mention some killer DJs and artisan food served at the event’s ‘vibey’ Tobacco Docks location. Entry is for set times and unlimited pours. Make sure to check out the Vaults where there will be some truly special tastings and brews hiding below.

On The Big Screen – Okay we admit i,t we love horror movies. And there’s a new one opening this weekend that Entertainment Weekly is calling “handsome, and deliciously horrible.” Produced by (among others) Guillermo del Toro, and based on bestselling book series of the same name, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark weaves together a half dozen haunting stories all set in Mill Valley, Pennsylvania, in the fall of 1968.

Music / Music / Music / Beer / Music (San Francisco, CA) – There’s no bigger, or better, musical gathering happening anywhere in the face of the planet this weekend than the Outside Lands 2019. This year’s festival, which is returning to Golden Gate Park for its 12th year, is three days (August 9-11) of outstanding music and a diverse array of artists such as Paul Simon, Childish Gambino and Twenty One Pilots. And contributing to this event’s considerable buzz is the fact that Outside Lands has been granted permission by the city to sell marijuana on its grounds.

THE ACB WEEKEND BEER PICK

We’re into IPA’s bigtime here at ACB (but who isn’t) and Starr Hill has a solid one. Balanced and undeniably full-flavored, Starr Hill Northern Lights IPA is a 6.2% ABV India Pale Ale with an insanely citrus-forward aroma.
