Hey it’s Friday and the weekend’s almost here. And with fall in the air, you’re more ready than ever for some serious fun. Well good, because we are on it! From the nation’s coolest beer festivals to movies, music, and cutting-edge TV – we’ve got your back big-time. So welcome to this week’s edition of our awesome Weekend Picks.

Tonight is theVIP Brewer Takeover. This exclusive event will showcase San Diego’s finest rare and specialty beers from local breweries, including offerings brewed just for tonight. All-inclusive tickets include unlimited beer samples coupled with unlimited food samples from local craft-beer friendly restaurants. Tomorrow, the SD Brewers Guild Festival opens to the public from 2-5 PM and will showcase San Diego County’s finest craft breweries. Food will be available for sale from local, craft-beer friendly restaurants and food trucks. And to top it all off, some great live music will be provided by some of San Diego’s best musicians! On the Big Screen – Ender’s Game is a popular Science Fiction novel with a huge cult following, and the much-anticipated film version of this classic opens nationally this weekend. Directed by Gavin Hood (The Wolverine), it stars Harrison Ford and Asa Butterfield as Ender Wiggin, a gifted child recruited and trained to lead his fellow soldiers into a battle that will determine the future of Earth.

Music/Music/Music – New Orleans is currently playing host to this weekend’s best music .The Voodoo Music + Arts Experience 2013 is three days of electronic and rock music featuring artists the likes of Paramore, Pearl Jam, Nine Inch Nails, and The Cure.
