Omaha Beer Fest is Back & Bigger Than Ever (Omaha, NE) – This weekend, Stinson Park in Aksarben Village will be the backdrop for the 3rd annual Omaha Beer Fest. The two-day fest (June 7-8) showcases Nebraska’s growing craft beer culture, and features seminars, comparative tastings, and special pairings at the on-site Beer Academy. More than 50 American breweries are expected to be in attendance, and several are making their debut this year at the festival, including Funkwerks, Blind Tiger, Brewery Ommegang, Millstream, Mad River, and several new Nebraska breweries – Ploughshare, Zipline, and Benson. On Friday night, ticket holders can taste dozens of experimental brews created by members of local homebrew clubs during the Homebrewer Expo.
The Internship opens this weekend at the movies and it’s been generating considerable buzz. It stars Vice Vaughn and Owen Wilson, who made a name for themselves as a team in Wedding Crashers, the first R-rated comedy that really “crossed over” into the mainstream, made tons of money, and paved the way for later successes like Knocked Up and The Hangover. Directed by Shawn Levy, The Internship involves two washed-up salesmen who find their way into a coveted internship at Google, where they must compete with a group of young, tech-savvy geniuses for a shot at employment.

Our Awesome Weekend Beer Pick
The Pike Brewing Company is celebrating the onset of summer with their take on a classic style. Pike Saison Houblon is a Belgian style seasonal farmhouse ale, fermented with a traditional Belgian Saison yeast and then generously hopped with Yakima Valley, Chinook, Citra, and Apollo hops. But they don’t stop there – Pike’s Saison is then dry-hopped with Falconer’s 7 C’s, Citra, and Apollo to make it a Washington State classic. It’s out there now, so you know what to do.
