beer baronsBeer Barons Unite! (Milwaukee, WI) – Billed as the “Best Beer Festival You Never Heard Of” The 11th Annual Beer Barons’ World of Beer Festival is returning to Milwaukee’s Schwabenhof Pavilion this Saturday, June 7th from 1-5 pm. This is your opportunity to expose your inner beer geek and taste over 200 different beers, meads and ciders all handpicked by the Beer Barons of Milwaukee. While drinking you’ll also be able to sate your primal desires for animal flesh by partaking in the famous Schwabenhof Pig Roast! C’mon does it get any better than this? We don’t think so. edge of tomorrowOn The Big Screen – Tom Cruise returns in a new sci-fi flick this weekend that sounds more like Groundhog Day than it does his last effort Oblivion. Directed by Doug Liman, Edge of Tomorrow is his second foray into the world of Science Fiction since he name for himself with the cult classic Jumper. In Edge Cruise stars as an officer in the future who finds himself trapped in a time loop where he is forced to relive a brutal scenario until he can figure out how to defeat the alien enemy. Emily Blunt, Bill Paxton and Brendan Gleeson round out a seasoned cast in a film that may or may not be all that.

Music and Serious Beer Madness in Space City (Houston, TX) – Sam Houston Park in downtown Houston will serve as ground zero for two days (June 7th & 8th) of beer madness when the fourth annual Houston Beer Festival returns to “Space City.” This year’s event will feature beer from an amazing 150 breweries, including local, regional and national favorites. There will be two stages providing some serious music and a huge roster of major league talent like Rick Ross and Alien Ant Farm and 3OH!3 all scheduled to perform. So if non-stop music and beer is your thing check out: 2014 Houston Beer Fest

TV Time – The jury’s still out on whether Showtime’s Penny Dreadful will become something great but 19th period horror thriller that weaves together classic gothic characters like Dorian Gray with Dr. Frankenstein will become something truly great – but it sure looks great and features some fine actors. Eva Green stars as a London psychic who unites with explorer Sir Malcolm Murray (Timothy Dalton), American gunslinger Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnett), and others to fight supernatural evil in Victorian England. Hey we get that this may not become the next Breaking Bad but it’s mildly diverting and beats The Real Wife of Anywhere hands down.
