From the nation’s coolest beer festivals to movies, music and cutting edge TV – we’ve got your back big-time. Plus we’ve a weekend beer pick for you too, because we know you’ll be drinking!

So welcome to our awesome Weekend Picks…

A Feast Of Belgian Yeast (Seattle, WA) – if you’re up in the Pacific Northwest, you can get your Belgian beer fix this Saturday (Jan 30^th), when the Washington Beer Commission presents its 7th Annual Belgianfest. This year’s two-session event is taking place at the Fisher Pavilion at Seattle Center and will feature more than 100+ Belgian-style beers crafted by Washington state breweries. There will be an insane array of Tripels, Dubbels, Saisons, Wits, Abbeys and Lambics – and of course, all of the beers presented are brewed with Belgian yeast. On The Big Screen – Welcome late January – when Hollywood dumps there more questionable projects into the marketplace and hopes that something sticks. The Finest Hours is a dramatic recreation of a legendary sea rescue that took place off of Cape Cod many years back. Chris Pine, Casey Affleck and Ben Foster (all great actors) star as the daring Coast Guard crew who risk their lives to save others on a pair of tankers destroyed during a blizzard in 1952. There’s also Kung Fu Panda 3 – and if you’re already familiar with animated panda franchise – we’re concerned about you.

Comedy And Craft Beer In La-La Land (Los Angeles, CA) – Comedy and craft beer are the bastard siblings from the same degenerate mother where they may not need each other to exist, but man, they sure do make each other better by nine fold. It doesn’t take a comedy or brewing genius to figure out that the two complement each other exponentially and the fine folks at Pint Magazine are exploiting this beautiful pairing this Saturday, January 30^th with the Laughs by Volume craft beer and comedy show at LA Mother in Los Angeles. There’s three shows to choose from (1pm, 5pm, and 9pm) featuring six comedians and over twenty different craft beers with unlimited tastings for three hours of side splitting fun. Tickets are a measly $30 for a show that will have you
on the floor from either laughing out of your seat or from your friends drinking you under the table.

TV Time – The SyFy network has just debuted a new long form series based on Lev Grossman’s best-selling fantasy series that’s as inventive as it is entertaining. Not unlike Harry Potter, The Magicians takes place in a secret school for magic but that’s where the similarities end. This school is in upstate New York -and its students more recognizably contemporary – so yes there’s plenty of sex and drugs.
