Craft Beer Techie Meetup in the Nation’s Capital (Washington, DC) – Airways Brewing and American Craft Beer will be hosting the Capital City’s first-ever “Craft Beer and Techie Meetup” this Friday (9/27) at DC’s innovative 1776 campus. 1776 is a platform and a space that serves as a global hub for startups tackling major challenges in education, energy, healthcare, government, and other critical industries. 1776 helps young companies receive mentorship, corporate connections, access to capital, media attention, and a pipeline of top talent–and Alex Dittmar, the Founder, Owner, & Head Brewer at Airways Brewing will be joining ACB’s Editor Tom Bobak to sample some serious beer, discuss emerging trends in today’s craft beer industry, and hang out with the region’s cutting-edge startup community. Unfortunately, Friday’s event will be limited to 1776 members but you can follow all the action via our Twitter feed as well as on our Facebook page.

Upslope Goes Out Of State (Boulder, CO) – It appears that one of our favorite Colorado-based breweries has chosen the Lone Star State for its first “out-of-state” experience. Upslope Brewing Company has just announced that their awesome ales and lagers will now be available in Texas. That’s right – there is a God and you’ll now be able to find Upslope’s brews at select retailers, restaurants, and craft beer bars in the greater Austin, Dallas, and Houston areas.

Stone’s Terminal 2 Bar Opens (San Diego, CA) – Stone Brewing Co. is giving San Diego International Airport passengers a reason to actually enjoy going through security. The brewery’s Terminal 2 bar is open so now you can “take-off” before you depart.The 2,500-square-foot bistro and bar seats 120 guests, and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day from 6 am to 10 pm. Ten Stone beers, including year-round and special releases, as well as two guest taps, are served from the 12-tap bar. For those wishing to enjoy a bottle on location or take it with them to their final destination, six bottled San Diego craft beer options are available for purchase.

The Long National Nightmare is Finally Over (Shelbyville, IN) – For fans of Southern Indiana’s popular Daredevil Brewing Company, it’s been tough. This much-lauded brewery’s beers have up to this point only been available on draft – but that’s about to change. As of November, you’ll finally be able to purchase their infamous Lift Off IPA in 4-packs of 16 oz. cans and we’ve no doubt that the state’s populace will be dancing in the streets.

A Rumor Mill Release You Want to Look Out For

Chicago’s Half Acre Beer Company recently announced a Friday release of something that we’re doubly excited about! Double Daisy Cutter Pale Ale is their new 8% ABV “monster” that’s riddled with four succulent hop varieties & four stiff barley varieties. Look for Double Daisy Cutter on draft and in 22 oz. bombers at their compound on September 27.
