The American Craft Beer Rumor Mill – October 7, 2015
October has arrived (say goodbye to pumpkin beers and hello to winter warmers)…And clearly nothing’s slowing down anytime soon. But no worries – Rumor Mill is always on the case, keeping you plugged in to all the craft beer news that matters. Plus we’ve an all-important update on what we’ve been drinking lately and you absolutely don’t want to miss that.

Will The Bud-Miller Merger End In Failure? (London, UK) – CNN is reporting that ‘shares in SABMiller fell by about 3% in London after Bloomberg reported that the brewer had turned down an initial takeover offer from its largest rival, Anheuser-Busch InBev. But pay no attention to supposed business pundits, and remember that ACB called it first – THIS MERGER WILL HAPPEN.
Words To Drink By (Las Vegas, NV) – “if you look around the table and you don’t know who the mark is… you’re the mark.”

Pros vs. Joes At The 2015 Cheesetoberfest (Dover, DE) – Our friends at Fordham & Dominion are throwing one of our favorite fall season events this Saturday, October 10th and with the weather looking picture perfect, we can’t think of a better reason for a road trip. Cheesetoberfest is an all-out, no holds barred, beer-fueled, grilled cheese competition that features 20 Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and Philadelphia restaurants. (THE PROS) VS. 20 random people (JOES) who want to throw down against the best! The brewery screw will be pouring their award winning Octoberfest, and there’s even going to be an “oompah band” rocking it!
Jerry Brown Now Onboard With Beer Bikes (Sacramento, CA) – Shortly after signing a bill allowing for 15-person beer bikes in California (you know, the ones where everybody pedals and drinks from one brewery to another) – Governor Jerry Brown, was seen pedaling unsurely through the streets of Sacramento. Unfortunately, the Denver Post is reporting that “the bill leaves local governments to decide if alcohol can be served on board,” according to – so maybe the Governor was celebrating prematurely.
