Hey it’sWednesdayand it’s Rumor Mill time…Wisconsin’s getting some new brews to pair with all that great cheese, breweries defy the wrath of God in the form of natural disasters, and the South gets cooler. Cigar City is also stepping up to the plate to brew with Louisville Sluggers for a good cause. We’ve also got an awesome new release that you’ll want to chase down.

So fasten your seat belts everybody… THIS WEEK’S RUMOR MILL IS ON!

deschutes-logoWisconsin Gets Good News in New Brews (Bend, OR) – Deschutes Brewery announced this week that their craft beers will be available in Wisconsin starting July 1, 2014. The Oregon-based brewery will be partnering with Wirtz Beverage Wisconsin for statewide distribution of its beers. Initially, Deschutes Brewery will be offering Mirror Pond Pale Ale, Black Butte Porter, Chainbreaker White IPA, and its summer seasonal, Twilight Summer Ale.

Cigar City Joining List of Brewers Supporting Operation Homefront (Tampa, FL) – Operation Homefront is getting even bigger than we’d previously reported, and Cigar City Brewing announced this week that it will also be participating. Homefront IPA is a unique charity beer in that 100% of the proceeds are donated to Operation Homefront. This year, Hops for Heroes is hoping to more than double their contribution to $200,000 and to do so, Cigar City – along with 11 other participating breweries – is set to brew 800 barrels (24,800 gallons) of beer.

AleSmith Flies South (Raleigh, NC) – Mims Distributing Company has announced that it will be bringing

brands from AleSmith Brewing Company, located in San Diego, CA, to its distribution area beginning this month. This is the first southeastern state to carry AleSmith, joining Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, and parts of Rhode Island on the East Coast.

mustang-brewingMustang Charges Back into Brewing(Oklahoma City, OK) – Mustang Brewing Co. announced that it has conducted its first brew day at its new facility nearly one year after a tornado completely destroyed its old one, save one fermenter. Thankfully, breweries in neighboring states stepped up over the last year and offered Mustang contract brewing opportunities to keep their beer on the shelves. That is why we love this industry!
