The American Craft Beer Rumor Mill – April 1, 2015
Yikes it’s April already. So much has happened and it doesn’t appear that things are going to slow down any time soon. But no worries – Rumor Mill is always on the case, keeping you plugged in to all the craft beer news that matters. Plus we’ve an all-important update on what we’ve been drinking lately and you absolutely don’t want to miss that.

Tallgrass Gets Bigger (Manhattan, KS) – Tallgrass Brewing Company has completed the $7 million build-out of a 60,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility on the outskirts of Manhattan, Kansas, quadrupling the capacity of the largest craft brewer in the state. The new brewery features a four-vessel, automated 50-barrel brewhouse and 3,000 square feet dedicated to developing Tallgrass’ future sour beer program. The new facility enables Tallgrass to produce 100,000 barrels per year.
Shooting The Shit With Hugh Sisson On Monday (Baltimore, MD) – Be sure to check in with us next Monday because we’ll be doing a 5 Stupid Questions with one of craft beer’s most engaging individuals, Hugh Sisson, the Founder of Heavy Seas Beer. We’ll never understand why he agreed to sit down with us and subject himself to our inane questioning – but he did. So that’s on him.

What We’ve Been Drinking Lately (Washington, DC) – We’d like to thank all the breweries who ship us beer from time to time. It’s always great to sample the brews that we write about and it helps to give us a better feel for what’s happening out there. Last night, we hit up a new seasonal that we just received from Heavy Seas. 2015’s Double Cannon is a 9.5% ABV Imperial IPA that’s dry-hopped to perfection and has a great nose.
