The 2022 Craft Brewers Conference In Minneapolis Is On

Craft beer’s most important industry gathering, the Craft Brewers Conference & BrewExpo America is underway. And if you’re in the craft beer biz, have friends in the industry, or hope to work in it yourself one day, you’re probably in Minneapolis now.

Presented by the Brewers Association, the Craft Brewers Conference (CBC) is the world’s largest beer and brewing industry event and it normally attracts thousands of brewing professionals and some of the biggest names in the biz.

The CBC is held in different cities annually, but it has touched down for the first time in Minneapolis, Minnesota and this year’ gathering (May 2-4) promises four days of enlightening industry talk and SERIOUS fun.

Like so many events, the CBC has been altered the last two years due to the pandemic. There was a virtual presentation in 2020, but as many of us who have been living on Zoom calls, it just wasn’t the same thing.

The CBC needs to be live. It’s about learning together, the people you run into navigating everything, and yes, late night hangs over some of the best beer in the world. And after two years in an altered state it finally is.

CBC 2022 will also be home to the World Beer Cup, often referred to as “the Olympics of Beer.”

Developed in 1996 to celebrate the art and science of brewing, the World Beer Cup continues to generate global awareness about different beer styles and flavor profiles while promoting international brewing excellence.

The 2020 World Beer Cup was not held due to the pandemic and it returns this year with more than 11,000 entries. Competition winners will be announced in an awards ceremony ion May 5.

CBC 2022 is also presenting BrewExpo America, the nation’s leading trade show for craft brewing professionals featuring more than 500 exhibitors… and a great opportunity for professionals to explore the newest products and services that the industry has to offer.

This year’s CBC is already too much fun and the fact that it’s in Minneapolis, a great Midwestern city with its own distinct vibe and vibrant brewing scene, makes it even better!  More than 9,000 attendees representing 1,200 breweries from all 50 states are already in the Twin Cities and we expect that many of them are now nursing hangovers, (we are).

But hangovers only embolden the American Craft Beer crew and when we step away from this year’s many seminars and hit the town we’re looking forward to enjoying the region’s brewing bounty, and then some.
