On January 30th Samuel Adams opened its newest taproom in one of Boston’s most iconic locations the historic Faneuil Hall.

Opened in 1743 Faneuil Hall is a marketplace and meeting hall located near the waterfront and the city’s Government Center, in Boston, Massachusetts.

And now the site of speeches by Samuel Adams himself and others encouraging independence from Great Britain, is home to Samuel Adams Brewing’s  newest taproom,…a striking venue in what Forbes Traveler ranked as the 4th most visited tourist location in 2008.

Situated just steps from its namesake’s statue and along the Freedom Trail symbolized in the beloved Samuel Adams Brick Red beer, Samuel Adams Boston Tap Room, like the company, straddles the line between the new and the old.

Conceived as a beer destination where fans can enjoy their favorite Sam Adams classics or explore the company’s more experimental directions, the new 14,000-square foot space includes three expansive bars across three unique floors as well as a rooftop patio.

Samuel Adams Boston Tap Room features 12 serving tanks to fuel its 20 taps and a 4.25 barrel state-of-the-art BrauKon brewhouse shipped in from Germany.

Overseen by Head Brewer Megan Parisi, Samuel Adam’s new brewhouse and taproom has a 1,100 barrel brewing capacity primarily dedicated to experimental small batch brews and taproom-exclusive offerings, along with an Innovation Table where drinkers can taste alongside a brewer and share feedback., Samuel Adams Opens New Taproom In Boston’s Historic Faneuil Hall

After years in the hunt for a downtown Boston taproom to represent the Samuel Adams brand, the company began making that dream a reality in 2017, completely reimagining the former restaurant space with the help of Bergmeyer and Gilbane Building Company.

A true labor of love, Samuel Adam’s landmark project demanded incredible coordination to ensure the 15 million annual visitors to this historic district, part of the Boston National Historical Park, would be both minimally impacted by construction and welcoming of this new space.

This from an understandably proud Jim Koch, Samuel Adams Founder & Brewer…

“We’ve been dreaming about a space like the Samuel Adams Boston Taproom for years. Ever since we opened our Boston Brewery Taproom in Jamaica Plain in 2017, drinkers have been asking us to open a location closer to the downtown area in Boston proper.”

“The Samuel Adams Boston Taproom is a place where craft beer lovers, Bostonians and visitors alike can saddle up with friends and enjoy classic and innovative Samuel Adams brews in an area steeped with revolutionary history, especially as it relates to our namesake.”
