Beer Boom Across The Pond (UK) – The Daily Mirror is reporting that a record number of new breweries debuted in the United Kingdom in 2016. According to the International accounting and consulting firm UHY, 520 new breweries came on-line over in Great Britain last year, as demand for craft beer continued to surge.
British Supermarkets and Pubs have reportedly awoken to the reality that they are going “to lose sales if they if they do not make way for some craft brands” which now make up around 9% of beer sales on the Isle according to UHY a trend that shows little signs of slowing down.

Critical Mass (Worcester, MA) – Massachusetts-based Wormtown Brewing has been deliberate about their growth but according to the telegram things are beginning to reach critical mass. Not only are the brewery’s beers finally available all across the state, they’ve just started distributing their award-winning beers in Rhode Island a state that Wormtown Brewery founder and brewmaster Ben Roesch once called home.
What We’ve Been Drinking Lately (Washington, DC) – Lagunitas recently sent us a special edition “Bavarian” seasonal and we hit it last night with a vengeance. A twisted take on the European traditional Lagunitas Doppel Weizen is an 8.7% ABV “Double Wheat” that’s available now through April.
