Billionaire Looking For Brewery to Partner on Space Beer
Billionaire Jared Isaacman has bought a ticket with SpaceX on a three-day space flight, during which the tech entrepreneur will carry with him 70 pounds of hops, which he hopes to turn into “space beer” in partnership with a brewery.
According to Space.com, Isaacman has chartered a private flight with SpaceX to send him into space over a three-day time period. The scheduled launch date is 15 September from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida and Isaacman will be heading into the stratosphere with 70lbs of hops that he hopes to action off to a brewery all with funds being donated to charitable cause.
Despite his announcement, the Drinks Business is reporting that “as of late last week it didn’t look as though Isaacman had received any offers from breweries willing to partner up on the project.”
“Still shocked we don’t have a brewery that is interested in making [beer] w/hops flown on orbit higher than the Hubble telescope…and to raise funds for @StJude along the way! C’mon breweries make history and get in contact with us,” the entrepreneur wrote.

Pistonhead Donates 70,000 Cans of Beer to Music Venues
Named and inspired by the legendary Norwegian rock band, the Pistonhead Foundation is an organization that supports struggling musicians, artists and music venues in the UK, as well as a beer brand created by Brutal Brewing in 2011.
And with music venues slowly reopening in the United Kingdom, the foundation is offering grassroots music venues free beer that they can sell to generate a little profit at a difficult time. According to UK Music, a British organization which represents the collective interests of the production side of UK’s commercial music industry, more than 35% of the music venues in the country have closed over the last decade, and COVID-19 is only accelerating things.
“The UK’s grassroots music venues have been amongst the hardest hit by the Covid-19 pandemic,’ says Michael Kill of Night Time Industries Association. “The Pistonhead Foundation campaign will go some way towards helping struggling venues get back on their feet, which in turn, will provide a wealth of much-needed opportunities for musicians.”
