Bell’s Brewery Honored For Energy Efficiency Efforts

Michigan’s largest independent craft brewery, which shipped almost half-a-million barrels of beer in 2019, has been awarded the US EPA Energy Challenge certification, a global call-to-action for industrial sites to reduce their energy intensity by 10 percent within 5 years.

Through a series of energy efficiency projects over the course of the last 2 years, Bell’s successfully reduced energy usage per barrel by 10.35%.

New Anderson Valley Brewing CEO Awarded

For over thirty years, Anderson Valley Brewing Co., has been producing award winning craft beers in Boonville, California. In 2019 the McGee family acquired the company and brought in their son Kevin McGee, a lawyer who also ran a bonded small garage brewery for 13 years, to helm the much larger operation.

And on December 14^th, Kevin McGee was named the Best Brewery President & CEO at the North Bay Business Journal’s 2020 Wine, Spirits + Beer Industry Awards.

“My career has taken a winding path but in retrospect it feels like I had been spending the last few decades preparing for my family to acquire AVBC,” McGee told the North Bay Business Journal. “I’ve been working in alcoholic beverages for just about 20 years now and when I founded Healdsburg Beer Co.”
