Quick Hits: Good & Bad Beer News At Anheuser-Busch / Tilray Brands Now #4 US Craft Beer Producer

The beer biz never sleeps at American Craft Beer. And here’s just some of what’s been happening in the beer world while you were enjoying the weekend.
Good & Bad Beer News For Anheuser-Busch
Michelob Ultra has become the top beer by volume in the U.S. year-to-date, according to Anheuser-Busch InBev’s third-quarter 2025 financial results. Despite overall organic volume decline of 3.7%, revenue saw modest growth due to pricing strategies and the strong performance of premium brands like Michelob Ultra
During an October 30 call with investors, A-B leadership reported that global revenue was up about 1% , for the quarter ending Sept. 30, and that Michelob Ultra had solidified its position as the #1 bestselling beer in the US. However, as the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported “volumes were down by 3.7% as a result of weak performance in China and unseasonably cold weather in Brazil.”
On the call, Michel Doukeris, A-B InBev CEO, told investors that the company was ready to address the migration of consumers to different beverage options including a larger commitment to the non-alcoholic beer segment, (Michelob Ultra Zero is the fastest-growing no-alcohol beer brand so far this year), canned cocktails and hard seltzers.
Doukeris added that although Beyond Beer brands make up only 2% of the company’s portfolio, it was growing quickly, led by Anheuser-Busch’s canned cocktail brand, Cutwater, which grew revenue by triple digits in the last quarter.
“It’s all about the consumers, so there is a group of consumers that indulge in different occasions with different liquid profiles and we’ve been learning a lot about that,” Doukeris said on the earnings call. “We’ve been having some very successful launches and scale-ups of products in this area.”

Tilray Brands Now #4 US Craft Beer Producer
Tilray Brands may be the most overlooked craft brewer in the US and there’s a reason for that…
Over the last five year Tilray Brands, a Canadian-headquartered pioneer in cannabis research, cultivation, and distribution has expanded its portfolio of U.S. craft breweries through a series of acquisitions from major beverage companies.
As a result of these deals, which include brands from Molson Coors and Anheuser-Busch, Tilray has significantly increased its position in the US craft beer market. According to the Brewers Association, Tilray’s beer division was ranked #4 among the top 50 craft brewing companies in the US based on beer sales volume.
Acquisitions from Molson Coors and Anheuser-Busch include:
- From Molson Coors (acquired August 2024): Hop Valley Brewing Company, Terrapin Beer Co., Revolver Brewing, and Atwater Brewery.
 - From Anheuser-Busch (acquired August 2023): Shock Top, Breckenridge Brewery, Blue Point Brewing Company, 10 Barrel Brewing Company, Redhook Brewery, Widmer Brothers Brewing, and Square Mile Cider Company.
