So welcome to the latest in our ongoing series, BAD IDEAS IN BREWING... and we're blaming Iceland for this one.

Okay, we get that this isn't actually a brewed product. But this idea is so massively misguided that we felt it earned its own right to be included in our Bad Ideas in Brewing Series. We recently learned via BevLog that a product called Palcohol, a new powdered booze creation, had been approved by the U.S. Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau and that its makers are hoping to get it into the marketplace this fall.

We've not sampled beer made with bacon and donuts - it's not our thing - but we figure there's probably someone out there who might like it. We feel much the same about a beer that was brewed with moon dust. But even though beers brewed with lunar dust, or donuts for that matter, might strike you as gimmicky and questionable, they're not morally reprehensible.

Do we really have to explain how bad we think this concept is? Doesn't it kind of explain itself? After all, there are certain things that should never, ever intermingle...that should never even be mentioned in the same breath...that the very thought of is so actively repugnant as to elicit an almost physical reaction....And milkshakes made with beer is definitely one of them.

Few things are more iconic than the American beer can - and Budweiser's can in particular. Maybe it's all the time we spent together growing up ...but they're ingrained in our memories and are part of our cultural DNA. But no matter what you think of Budweiser's beer nowadays, you've still got to admit that their can is an American classic. And if history has taught us anything, it's that you don't fuck with a classic.
