, Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out For – June 13, 2013Whole Foods and Heavy Seas Release the Badger Today (Washington, DC) – If you’re a regular reader of ours, you know that we’re big fans of Whole Foods and all the cool things that they’re doing with craft beer. We’re fans of Baltimore’s innovative Heavy Seas Beer as well. So when we heard about the Badger, we were psyched! Honey Badger Ale is a special collaboration that was created when Washington DC’s Tenleytown -AU neighborhood Whole Foods beer crew traveled up to Baltimore to work with the Heavy Seas brewers, who are known throughout the industry as the leading producers of firkins. Honey Badger Ale starts with Heavy Seas Loose Cannon as its base. It was then hop-bombed with Citra, Simcoe, and Centennial hops. Orange peel, toasted oak, and copious amounts of honey provided by American University were also added. And then it was aged in casks for over six weeks. The Tenleytown – Whole Foods Market and Heavy Seas will be tapping their exclusive Honey Badger Firkin today at 4:30.The ACB crew’s going to be there too …so come down and be part of this one-of-a-kind celebration!
