Newbies – New Craft Beer Releases That You Want to Look Out For – March 28, 2013
So many craft beers, So little time…With so many craft breweries, releasing so many beers, we thought it might help to provide a weekly update on all the new beers that are hitting the streets …..So welcome to this week’s edition of Newbies – your guide to great new craft beer releases!
The Thrill of the Fight… (Cleveland, OH) – We love music. We love Rocky. We love beer. So, when Great Lakes Brewing Company decides to release Rye of the Tiger IPA, you know we are going to say something. Available starting the 28th, this tiger has bite. They said it. And really, we love this description: “Rye of the Tiger is crafted for the fighter in all of us, a powerful beer meant to inspire feats of strength and skill. At 7.5%, mind those catlike reflexes if your bout goes into extra rounds. If you can handle this hopped-up kitty, you’ve earned your stripes.” Rising up to the challenge of our rivals…
Summer Dreams, Make Me Feel Fine (Point Pleasant Beach, NJ) – We couldn’t resist another one. Sorry. Anyway, East Coast Brewing Co. has announced the release of Beach Haus Cruiser IPA, an English-style brew with the US hop aroma and bitterness. Available starting soon, it is balanced and flavorful. Peddle on over and get yourself a bottle!
Catching Some Summer Fireflies (Milton, DE) – It may be a ways off, but it is important to note that Dogfish Head announced the release of Firefly Ale, an English-style Pale Ale, brewed specifically for the Firefly Music Festival. The festival will take place in Dover in July, but get your tickets soon so you can get yourself a taste of this limited release.
Gluten-Free Hops Hitting Stores (Portland, OR) – Omission Beer has announced that they are about to do something that people said was impossible: an IPA. You read that right, kids. The hoppy goodness of an IPA, available to those that aren’t friends with that whole gluten thing. You will be able to find it throughout the state of Oregon soon.
