New Belgium Ups A Kriek (Ft Collins, CO) – New Belgium Is returning a popular Lambic that knows both sides of the Atlantic. Crisp and effervescent with a bright flash of cherry the 2016 Transatlantique Kriek began life in the oaken vessels at the Oud Beersel brewery in Belgium. After it wood aged, Oud Beersel’s Lambic was then blended with tart cherries and shipped across the Atlantic to New Belgium for the final blending process. In Ft Collins, Brewmaster Peter Bouckaert used the cherry Lambic ale along with a portion of New Belgium’s sour Felix to create a full golden brew.
