So many beers- So little time… More fall seasonals in today’s newbies and we’ve a number of interesting offerings you’ll want to chase down…Plus we’ve two collaboration from Harpoon and Deschutes that sound interesting as well.

Getting Laissed (Atlanta, GA) – Monday Night Brewing debuted something special yesterday that’s been aging in the brewery for 10 months. Monday Night Laissez-Faire is a Wheatwine Ale aged in red wine barrels – and it’s available now in 22oz bottles and on draft.

HUB Gets Fresh (Portland, OR) – Fresh hop season is in full swing across the Pacific Northwest. Breweries throughout the region are celebrating the harvest by creating once-a-year brews with the freshest hops available. And a new one is available now at Hopworks Urban Brewer’s brewpubs. HUB’s Nonstop Fresh Hop is a fresh hop version of their popular Nonstop Hef Hop and features fresh organic Fuggle hops from Leavy Farms in Aurora, Oregon. 

The Fall Season Pumpkin Parade Continues (Asheville, NC) – This week’s addition to the ongoing pumpkin parade is an interesting new seasonal our friends at Wicked Weed – and Inspired by the mythos of the ancients, (yep that’s what their press release says). Wicked Weed Xibalba (pronounced she-bahl-ba – you want to be able to order it, right?) is an 8.2% Imperial Pumpkin Ale that was brewed with chilies, cacao nibs, and a host of spice.

No Cover Up! (Paso Robles, CA) – Firestone Walker recently returned a popular title – now its third bottled vintage – and maybe its best. Velvet Merkin has always been the barrel-aged version of Firestone Walker’s seasonal Velvet Merlin Oatmeal Stout but this year’s version has been tweaked to round out its already robust mouthfeel. The 2015 Velvet Merkin was officially released last weekend and is available now in 22oz bottles.

Two Employee Owned Collaborations (Boston, MA / Bend, OR) – This October, Harpoon and Deschutes will release a collaboration called EHOP – beers brewed by employee-owners in celebration of brewing independence – and both named EHOP. Brewed in Boston and released as part of the brewery’s limited batch 100 Barrel Series, Harpoon EHOP is an 8.5% Amber Ale with a malty sweetness and lingering spiciness. Brewed out in Bend, Deschutes EHOP is an 8% Amber Ale is crafted using the same malt and hop profile – but this version adds Oregon sage and thyme to the mix. Both EHOP’s will be available next month on draft.
