Spring is ON and American craft brewers are addressing the season with a variety of ambitious new offerings that are fun and user-friendly…

Luponic Distortion 2021 (Paso Robles, CA) – Firestone Walker’s Luponic Distortion IPA Series hits the ground running in 2021 with a new look and a fresh blend of four hops sourced exclusively from New Zealand.

“This edition of Luponic Distortion is a celebration of our new grower and merchant relationships that we’ve forged over the past couple of years in the Southern Hemisphere,” said Brewmaster Matt Brynildson. “It’s the first time we’ve had enough supply to go all in on a blend of 100 percent New Zealand-grown hops.”

Luponic Distortion is not a single beer, but rather an ongoing series of beers. While the base beer always remains the same, each release features a different hop blend built around new and experimental hops, designed to showcase the growing possibilities of pure hop aromas and flavors without any assist from fruit or other adjuncts.

Pool Party (Frederick, MD) – Flying Dog Brewery is returning a popular seasonal that generated all kinds of buzz when it debuted in 2020. Crafted using traditional beer ingredients – like Citra and Mosaic hops, and Pilsner and Wheat malts, Flying Dog Pool Hopping is a stripped-down 5.4% ABV summer ale that’s refreshing and tropical without the additional sweetness.

Pool Hopping is the delicious love child of a New England IPA and a Brut IPA,” said Ben Clark, Brewmaster at Flying Dog Brewery. “Our team was able to find a great balance between the two where we created something refreshing and tropical without the additional sweetness. It’s absolutely perfect for crushing poolside.”

Drink Big (San Diego, CA) – Ballast Point Brewing has a new addition to its year-round offerings that’s a bigger bolder sibling to Wee Gus its new low calorie hoppy lager.  Crystal clear, extremely dry, and colossally dry-hopped, Ballast Point Big Gus is a 6.5% ABV India Pale Ale with the hefty spine of a traditional IPA and only 150 calories.
