Half of the US is still buried under mountains of snow with plummeting temperatures across much of the nation, and brewers are addressing things with a warming roster of beers that should pair brilliantly with hours spent shoveling.
Milk Of The Madonna (San Diego, CA) – Belching Beaver Brewery and Deftones started their relationship back in 2016 with Phantom Bride IPA. And over the many years , the brewery has worked closely with the band, and delivered delivering a brilliant series of musical collaboration beers, each taking inspiration from the band’s catalog .
Named after a song from the Deftones’ 2025 album, Private Music and the 13th collaboration between the San Diego-based brewery and the band, Milk of the Madonna is a 6.5% ABV Horchata Blonde Ale with deft notes of cinnamon and vanilla.
This from Belching Beaver…
“Get ready for Milk Of The Madonna! Brewed in collaboration with our friends Deftones, this Horchata Blonde Ale hits smooth and rhythmic. Creamy and mellow with notes of cinnamon and vanilla, each sip layers warmth, balance, and just enough spice to keep you coming back for more. Crafted for late nights, deep cuts, and everything in between. Turn it up. Pour it out. Let it play.”

Cause & Effect (Vista, CA, and Nampa, ID) – Mother Earth Brew Co has released its first addition to the Project X Series in 2026. Brewed with Nelson Sauvin, Strata, Galaxy, and Mosaic hops, Mother Earth Cause & Effect IPA is a 7.2% ABV Hazy India Pale Ale with layers of bright white grape, passionfruit, peach, pineapple, and citrus notes, a full, pillowy body that finishes clean without harsh bitterness.
The can’s label is a key part of the Project X Series, which combines brewing experimentation with original art. The design, created in collaboration with illustrator @fivetimesno, features a fragmented, glitch-inspired design that plays with movement and disruption, visually reflecting the beer’s dynamic and visceral character.
“We are thrilled to be entering our 7th year of a program that started out as simply a creative outlet for our brew team,” said Kamron Khannakhjavani – Director of Marketing, Mother Earth Brew Co. “Clearly, the Project X Series has grown considerably since 2019, but it stays true to its original goal of collaboration and expression through beer and art, and 2026 will be no different.”
