Get Altered (Downers Grove, IL) – Alter Brewing has released its third seasonal of 2020 and like it or not its debut marks the coming of fall. A smooth and toasty homage to the drink of choice at Oktoberfest celebrations the world over, Alter Festbier is a 6% ABV Märzen-style Lager with warm roasted notes and delicate hop aromatics.
Out Of This World (Brooklyn, NY) – Other Half Brewing keeps cranking out India Pale Ales that impress. All of their IPAs that are brewed using Galaxy hops as part of its hop menu feature the word ‘space’ (get it?), in the beer’s name. And now they’ve a new one that’s out of this world. A variation on the brewery’s traditional Broccoli IPA, Other Half Space Broccoli is a 7.9% ABV Hazy IPA fueled on Hallertau Blanc, Mosaic and Simcoe and GALAXY hops which explains its spacy name.
It Takes A Village (Calgary, Alberta) – Our neighbors to the north have not been deterred by COVID-19 and now Calgary-based Village Brewery has a new summer seasonal that’s perfect for the ‘new normal.’ A bright, tart brew designed for sitting pool side or sheltering-in-place. Lightly hopped and held up by two-row Alberta Barley. Sunseeker Tropical Kettle Sour is a 4.7% ABV refresher brimming with fresh peach, mango and lemon for a sweet, tropical body with a sour finish.
Long Days And Short Years (Seattle, WA) – Reuben’s Brews is celebrating its 8th Anniversary with a new release that commemorates significant moments in their history. Crafted with Sabro, Michigan Chinook, and Citra hops which gives it a bright nose of orange and lime zest Reuben’s Brews Long Days Short Year IPA is an 8.6% ABV Hazy IPA with a big tropical fruit body and bright mango and pineapple, and passion fruit tones.
Pumpkin Pie Powered (St Louis, MO) – It appears that one thing that the coronavirus can’t kill is the pumpkin ale and even in the face of a pandemic that refuses to go away, Schlafly Beer is returning what has been an award-winning staple for over 10 years. Schlafly Pumpkin Ale is an 8% ABV sweet and sassy seasonal. And if you’re looking for a pumpkin ale with real pumpkin pie flavor (minus the whipped cream), this beer is it.
