, New Bud Light Zero Carb Beer Gets Super Bowl Commercial

Anheuser-Busch is pulling out all the stops and celebrating its “first-ever” zero carb beer with a trippy new Super Bowl commercial…

Here’s the deal…

On January 27 Anheuser-Busch announced its newest innovation, Bud Light Next, a 4% ABV lager with only 80 calories and absolutely no-carbs.  And to make sure that the world knows about it they produced a trippy 45 minute spot that will air during the Super Bowl which takes the beer into the metaverse.

Set to the Barbra Streisand’s  “Gotta Move” (an unusual musical choice given that it’s hardly a classic and dates back to 1963), and built around the message that there is ’zero in the way of possibility’, the Bud Light Next commercial turns to four young people breaking down barriers in their own lives. Exploring possibilities that include everything from escaping the confines of cramped urban homes, to bad dates, life in the country and even a metaverse concert.

The spot also marks another milestone for Bud Light’s recent entry into the NFT space, by featuring a Nouns DAO partnership. The partnership is showcased in the commercial’s third vignette when their famous Noun glasses, as well as a token from the new Bud Light N3XT NFT Collection, make an appearance.

Anheuser-Busch, which has exclusive rights to all the national beer advertising at the big game, spends millions every season to showcase its brands during the Super Bowl broadcast, a game which is watched annually by more than 100 million viewers.

“This Super Bowl, we celebrate a historic moment in Bud Light and Anheuser-Busch’s history: the introduction of Bud Light NEXT, our first-ever zero carb beer,” said Andy Goeler, Vice President of Marketing, Bud Light. “Ten years in the making, Bud Light NEXT is a symbol of our continued commitment to innovation.
