March is ON and American craft brewers are addressing things with exciting new beers you’re gonna want to have around.

The Beast Is Back (Paso Robles, CA) – Firestone Walker’s iconic imperial stout is back with a new vintage that was aged in a rare blend of spirits barrels. Aged for a year in an equal combination of eight-year-old Blanton’s bourbon and 12-year-old Weller wheated whiskey barrels, Firestone Parabola 2023 is hefty 13.5% ABV masterpiece with intense black cherry, dark chocolate, toasted coconut, vanilla, and roast coffee notes that linger.

“These barrels are pretty rare, and we’ve never used them to this extent in Parabola,” said Brewmaster Matt Brynildson. “I’ve been a longtime fan of Blanton’s, and I’m a more recent fan of Weller, and together they add a flavorful new twist on the story of Parabola.”

A Fab Collab (San Diego, CA) – AleSmith Brewing has a new limited release that it did with Colorado’s Telluride Brewing which was born out of a mutual admiration for each other’s beers. Bursting with Chinook, Cashmere, and Sabro hops AleSmith West Peak IPA is a 6.75% ABV West Coast-Style India Pale Ale with a mild bitterness that provides a gentle base that tether this beer’s intensely hoppy notes.

Patio Sippin’ (Escondido, CA) – – Stone Brewing has a new beer to ring in a springtime of patio sippin.’ The brewery’s first commercial release using the innovative Sauvignon Blanc grape skin from New Zealand called Phantasm, and Experimental Hop 843 from Hop Breeding Company,  Stone Patio Magic Double IPA is an 8.8% ABV India Pale Ale that reaffirms the brewery’s long-standing commitment to experimenting with unique hop varieties and supporting hop growers in their breeding programs.

“Phantasm and HBC 843 are complemented by the addition of Orange Peel, Centennial, Mosaic and Southern Aroma hops from South Africa,” explained Jeremy Moynier, Stone Sr. Manager of Brewing & Innovation. “Nailing the flavor profile with this unique combination of ingredients was a lot of fun.”
