March is ON and American craft brewers are addressing things with exciting new beers you’re gonna want to have around.
Press Play For Haze (Seattle, WA) – Elysian Brewing has a new addition to its portfolio which is driven by an overwhelming sense of nostalgia for the 90s, things like music cassette art, flannel shirts and grunge rock. Named in a mashup of the year that Elysian launched and the beer’s distinctive style, Hazy ’96 is a 6.1% ABV Hazy IPA with juicy citrus notes that resonate nicely.
Hazy ’96’s artwork is a departure for the brewery incorporating 90’s cassette design as opposed to a living subject. As you turn the can in your hand, you’ll notice every piece of a video cassette box has been worked in. Even the sticker on the cassette tape itself is being utilized as the UPC.
So just press play for the haze.
Set Your Phasers To Stun (Seattle, WA) – Ecliptic Brewing has a new addition their Special Release Series that frankly left us stunned. An amped-up version of a brewery fan-favorite, Phaser Hazy IPA, Ecliptic Super Phaser is an 8% ABV double take on the original bursting with Azacca, Mosaic, El Dorado, and Citra hops.
“I thought it would be a fun project this year to take Phaser Hazy IPA to the double IPA level,” says Owner and Brewmaster, John Harris. “We added an extra 1.5 pounds of hops per barrel in the dry hop to really elevate the aroma and flavor. As the beer’s label copy says, ‘we’ve given her all we’ve got’ – which is a fun nod to Star Trek
Sweet Stuff (Atlanta, GA) – Sweetwater Brewing has added something that couldn’t more traditional to its year-round portfolio. Crafted with Crystal and Hallertau hops which add mild spicy floral notes, SweetWater Lager is a clean, crisp and dependable 4.5% ABV refresher that’s perfect for any drinking occasion that calls for something lighter.
