With Labor Day now behind us summer will soon be giving way to fall and American craft brewers are addressing the changing season with an intriguing roster of beers you’re gonna want to have around.

Pumpkin Patched ( Milton, DE) – Dogfish Head Craft Brewery’s fall seasonal pumpkin ale, which they’ve been brewing since 1995 debuted as part of a legendary southern Delaware pumpkin extravaganza, Punkin Chunkin and has made a welcome annual appearance ever since then.

Available for the first time in its 29-year existence, in 6pk/12oz cans Dogfish Head Punkin Ale is a 7% ABV sweet, sassy and brown sugar-toned, Brown Ale with pumpkin that’s complex and robust yet unassuming at the same time.

“One of my favorite moments of the year is cracking open a Punkin Ale right after Labor Day is in the rearview mirror. It’s crazy to think that’s been happening for 29 years now,” said Sam Calagione, Dogfish Head Founder & Brewer. “In that time, the beer’s recipe really hasn’t changed, but its packaging has seen dozens of design iterations. But this is the first time it’s ever been in cans, which!”

Never A Dill Moment (Greeley, CO) – Two of Colorado’s most creative culinary-inspired food and beverage makers have teamed up to produce an unlikely flavor combination: pickles and beer. Inspired by WeldWerks Marketing Manager Lauren Kayl’s love of both, the brewery partnered with The Real Dill, a Denver-based company that makes artisan pickles, to make Kayl’s dream a reality.

Boldly crafted with 70 gallons of The Real Dill pickles and brine, WeldWerks Never A Dill Moment is a 5.5% ABV slightly tart ale with subtle notes of dill and spices.

“One of my favorite aspects of WeldWerks has always been our commitment to embracing new ideas and our willingness to draw inspiration from any of our co-workers like Lauren,” says WeldWerks Head Brewer Skip Schwartz. “My only condition with this project was that it had to be with our close friends at The Real Dill. Their involvement has been crucial in ensuring that we not only craft a pickle beer but that it’s the absolute best pickle beer on the planet.”
