Flying Dog presents Festival de Cans: A Craft Beer and Film Festival – 9:30 Club – 8 pm:
Flying Dog Brewery presents Festival de Cans – a beer-focused film festival at DC’s iconic 9:30 Club – with The Brewer’s Art, Brooklyn, DC Brau, Golden Road, Half Acre, Maui, New Belgium, Oskar Blues, Sierra Nevada, and Starr Hill. Emceed by comedian Doug Powell, the festival will explore the evolution of beer advertising and the craft industry’s impact. Each brewery has submitted a commercial or short film that will be screened alongside some of the best vintage beer commercials beginning at 8 pm. Brooklyn-based funk band Escort will also be performing – their debut LP was named one of the top releases of 2012 by Rolling Stone Magazine. Tickets are $25 through the 9:30 Club. Only 500 tickets are available to the public, so the event is expected to sell out.
