Leap Day Beer Run: Imperial Blonde Ales And Hazy IPA’s

Since Leap Day (February 29) only happens once every four years we’re pulling out the stops this weekend and only showcasing only beers worth waiting for.

Going Rogue (Newport, OR) – Rogue Ales & Spirits has a new limited release with a name and sensibility inspired by yoga. Brewed with granola, coconut and sweet oats that showcase, subtle spice flavors, Rogue Shavasana is an 8% ABV Imperial Granola Blonde Ale that the brewery suggests “can help you relax and restore after the twists and turns of life.”

3 Sheeps never Sleeps (Sheboygan, WI) – 3 Sheeps Brewing has a new year-round beer that boasts just enough bitterness to know it is an IPA without hitting the palate like a wrecking ball. With a taste profile that swings from the West Coast-Style IPA to a NEIPA. A deft melding of both popular styles, Three Sheeps Pendulum IPA is a 6.5% ABV India Pale ale with intense tropical flavors and a clean and mildly bitter finish.

All American Hops (Ft Collins, CO) – New Belgium Brewing has a new year-round addition to its Voodoo Ranger line. Brewed with a passion for freedom as well as with passionfruit, Voodoo Ranger American Haze is a boldly unfiltered and uber-juicy 5% ABV Hazy IPA that was brewed using all American hops.

Charmed (Hershey, PA) – In March Tröegs Independent Brewing will be debuting its first year-round release in 4 years…a beer that went through six months of development at the brewery’s small-batch Scratch Brewhouse.

Dry-hopped with a combination of Citra, Lotus and El Dorado and fermented with London 3 yeast, Tröegs Haze Charmer is a 5.5% ABV Hazy IPA with an uber-soft mouthfeel and BIG pineapple, fresh grapefruit and candied peach notes. “It’s been a fun ride perfecting this recipe,” says Brewmaster John Trogner. “More than ever before, we dialed in to the relationship between fermentation and the hop combination and how a yeast strain can fundamentally change the way you smell hops.
