News like this usually drops on a Monday or Friday…So we weren’t totally surprised when our friends at Brewbound broke the news that Joey Redner had decided to sell a majority stake in his Cigar City, Florida’s largest independent brewery, to Fireman Capital.

Boston-based Fireman Capital, already owns a controlling interest Oskar Blues, Perrin Brewing and the Utah Brewers Cooperative (Wasatch and Squatters) are all held by the firm under the United Craft Brews LLC designation, which was set up specifically for craft beer acquisitions.

According to Brewbound “Terms of the deal were not disclosed and the transaction is expected to close within the next 90 days.”
