Exciting New Beer Releases From Jester King, The Kernel, BridgePort And More
Seasonality is one of the most fun aspects of the craft beer movement. And here are five “newbies” primed for the season that you need to check out…
Jester King Meets The Kernel’s Colonel (Austin, TX) – When American Craft Beer was in London last year, we caught up with Evin O’Riordain at The Kernel, and were blown away by all the exciting things he’s doing over there. So their new collaboration with Jester King has got us excited. Crafted with the Kernel’s Toby Munn, Jester King’s appropriately named Colonel Toby is a 3.4% ABV hoppy little farmhouse ale that was brewed using “hill country” well water.
Ballsy Brewing (Portland, OR) – BridgePort Brewing has begun bottling an up till now “draft-only” pilot brewery favorite that was named as an homage to Portland’s legendary pinball and arcade scene. BridgePort Multi Ball IPA is a massive 8.25% ABV DIPA brewed with a complex menu of seven different Pacific Northwest hops that aims to please.
Melon Ready (Boulder, CO) – One of Colorado’s original craft breweries, Boulder Beer, has a new fruity seasonal release that’s primed and timed for summer. Bump ‘n’ Rind is a 5.6% ABV Kölsch-style ale that they brewed with just the right touch of “fresh watermelon zing.”
Bloody Good And Sour (Philadelphia, PA) – Dock Street Brewing is doubling down on a serious Germanic tradition and infusing it with fruit. Taking its name from a strangely named Philadelphia neighborhood, Dock Street Jip The Blood is a 4.5% ABV Double Berliner Weisse brewed with blood oranges to temper the beer’s intense tartness.
Cinco de Mayo Minded (Seattle, WA) – Two Beers Brewing has Cinco de Mayo on the mind and they’ve a new Pub Series release that you’re gonna want to celebrate it with. Two Beers Lima Loco is a Mexican-style lager that’s infused with lime (so you won’t have to add it yourself).
