(Balboa Park San Diego)

, Craft Brewery Openings And Closings In San Diego: 2019Here’s just some of what happened in 2019..

San Diego was at the epicenter of one of last year’s most interesting beer news stories.

Who knew that Ballast Point, which lost its craft beer status when it sold to Constellation Brands in 2015, would be purchased by a small Illinois craft brewery, Kings & Convicts, and be designated an independent craft brewery again (at least according to the Brewer’s Association’s definition)?

According to Craft Beer in San Diego new breweries continue to open regularly. But with an astounding 158 craft breweries currently operating in San Diego County, not to mention the 55 craft beer tasting rooms, brewery closings are unfortunately also on the rise…

And here, according to the West Coaster, are 2019’s brewery debuts and farewells in San Diego County…
