Cooking With Beer – Best Super Bowl Recipes

, Cooking With Beer – Best Super Bowl Recipes

For almost three years we’ve been featuring our favorite “Cooking with Beer” recipes every weekend. It’s become one of our most popular features and they’re fun to do.

And with many of us already in Super Bowl mode, we thought it might be time to showcase some party-friendly “blasts from the past,” that will pair brilliantly with the big game.

SPICY BACON & CHEDDAR CHEESE MUFFINS

Festive foods take on new meaning when made with serious beer. And who doesn’t like fresh from the oven bacon and cheddar cheese muffins, especially when made with the perfect lager.

This sure-to-please recipe, which comes our way from the Beer Institute, a national trade organization that advocates for big and small brewers, was created for them by Chef Laurent Aubel.

And although it calls for any lager, we used Scrag Mountain Pils, a 4.8% ABV Czech-Style Pilsner from Lawson’s Finest Liquids.

FOUNDERS SOLID GOLD BEER BATTERED ONION RINGS

This tasty beer battered onion rings recipe comes from Founders Brewing’s Culinary Director, Justin Golinski who notes that the dish represents all four important food groups (beer, onions, oil, batter) so there’s no reason to feel guilt.

And the beer used is Founders Solid Gold a 4.4% ABV Premium Lager which the Grand Rapids, Michigan-based brewery introduced in 2018, and remains one of their most popular year-round offerings today.

COOKING WITH BEER – ROASTED POTATO SKINS WITH IPA CHEESE DIP

This delicious party pleaser also comes our way from the Beer Institute.

Although the recipe calls for any India Pale Ale, we used Firestone Walker Hopnosis IPA, a 6.7% ABV India Pale Ale that is brewed with Cryo Hops® pellets and dry-hopped with US and New Zealand varieties.

SIERRA NEVADA HAZY IPA BEEF SLIDERS

This appetizing recipe comes our way from Sierra Nevada Brewing, but it originated at Beer Belly, an Instagram site that knows what it’s doing.

It uses Sierra Nevada’s bestselling Hazy Little Thing IPA, an aggressively dry-hopped, less filtered, 6.7% ABV India Pale Ale, with a juicy citrus ambience, a modest bitterness, and smooth finish.
