Brewgooder Beer Funds Water Sanitation Efforts In Africa

A charity beer that is brewed in partnership with BrewDog, at its Ellon brewery in Scotland, has already funded 87 projects in Africa since launching in 2016.

Brewgooder is a UK-based charity beer brand that’s doing good things in developing countries like Malawi,

More than three years ago Brewgooder embarked on a simple mission, “to provide clean water for 1,000,000 people through the power of craft beer by donating 100% of our profits to clean water charities.”

With the help of BrewDog, who brew their beer at zero margin, they founded Brewgooder on World Water Day 2016 and asked craft beer drinkers across the world to help them with their crusade.

Almost 1,000 backers and over 30 bars, retail outlets and restaurants helped Brewgooder raise enough money to begin brewing its first cans of Clean Water Lager.

And since 2016 Brewgooder has helped to fund 60 projects for over 33,000 people in Malawi.

Alan Mahon, founder of Brewgooder is passionate about his company’s directive…

“We set off on a mission to make a great tasting craft lager to a unique recipe, sell the beer and invest 100% of our profits – every single penny – into clean water projects. This means that when you drink our beers you are providing someone who needs it with clean drinking water.”

 “Every case that we sell at retail value allows us to provide clean water access for a person in Malawi for over two years.”

 “Our hope is twofold: that we’ll be proven correct and that the value paid echoes that of the impact; and we manage to attract a new range of Brewgooder drinkers that can help bring us closer to achieving our overall mission: to provide clean water to one million people across the world.”

Fellow “do-gooders” can purchase Brewgooder beer and gear online but unfortunately delivery at this time is limited to the United Kingdom.
