Ravinia to Open New Chicago Brewery in Former Ale Syndicate Home

A long-empty brewery will soon be the new home for another brewery that’s been in the hunt for housing for a while now.

Ravinia Brewing is moving into the Northwest Chicago building that once housed Ale Syndicate, a brewery that was forced to abruptly close after failing to pay the rent in 2016 according to the Chicago Tribune.

Ravinia’s new 7,000-square-foot space will house a 20-barrel brew house and array of fermentation tanks that, once online, will allow the company to produce 7,500 barrels of beer per year.

Husband and wife entrepreneurs Steve and Miller Hughes plan to open a new microbrewery in Newark NJ a city that once boasted “several large breweries like Ballantine and Krueger Brewing Co.,” according to NJ.com.

Planned to open in 2020 on the ground floor of the renovated NJ Bell Building in downtown Newark, Newark Local Beer will offer a 6,300 square-foot space with a tap room that will fit about 190 people and also a private space for parties or events.

“We’re really excited to bring this type of business back to downtown Newark,” Steve Hughes said. “We think it’s a great time. There’s definitely a void for this type of business.”

Peaks n Pines Opens Near Colorado Springs

On August 24th Peaks N Pines opened the doors to its newest location, 10 miles south of downtown Colorado Springs, the first craft brewery in Fountain, Colorado.

Peaks N Pines newest location features a 10BBL Brewhouse, a 2,000-square-foot taproom with outdoor seating and a 450-square-foot event space in a brilliant $400,000 redesign of what was once a 1980’s bus garage.

Born out of the dreams and aspirations of four beer enthusiasts, Peaks n Pines opened its first 3-barrel brewhouse in northeast Colorado Springs in 2015.

But the new just opened location, which is part of an urban renewal project, which will change the look and vibe of downtown Fountain, will up the brewery’s reach and capacity considerably.
