Blue Moon LightSky Beer Debuts Humorous Ad Campaign

If you’re a regular visitor to American Craft Beer you know we appreciate beer marketing campaigns that make us laugh…And Blue Moon LightSky’s new video ads are brief, smart and funny.

Here’s the deal….

In 2020, Blue Moon Brewing got into the low-carb, low-cal game with the release Blue Moon LightSky, a 4% ABV citrus-infused Wheat Ale with only 95 calories and 3.6 grams of carbohydrates.

And to showcase its credentials as a light beer that doesn’t skimp on taste, Molson Coors has introduced the new “Savor Every Sip” ad campaign with humorous videos featuring Rachael Harris, whose credits include “New Girl,” “Lucifer” and “Suits.”

 

The spots will get a wide release across TV, streaming services, digital and social media platforms through September, including hot placement at the Summer Olympics, the MLB All-Star Game and the ESPY Awards.

“Our new creative juxtaposes a premium high-quality beer with an occasion that’s not always thought of like that.

What we’re telling consumers is that you’re able to have something lighter without compromising any of the flavor,” Rose Osial, marketing manager for Blue Moon told Beer & Beyond. “What we’ve learned about this brand in its first year on the market is that a key driver of repeat purchase of LightSky is that its flavor was better than they expected from a 95-calorie beer.”

 

 

The new LightSky campaign comes as the brand continues its hot run ride finishing last year as the top new craft beer in the US. And whether you consider the Blue Moon brand, which is produced by Molson Coors, craft beer or not, the beer is on a serious roll.

“This is a brand that just continues to grow, and as we get deeper into warmer months, we’re seeing velocity really picking up,” Osial added. “It’s proof that more drinkers are learning about LightSky and returning to it time and again.”
