A festive, snowy winter scene featuring a decorated cabin, pine trees, and a large 'Troegs The Most Wonderful Beer of the Year' beer box designed with Christmas ornament graphics in the foreground.

Over the past 25 years, Hershey, PA-based Tröegs Independent Brewing has grown from two brothers to 250 people, but it remains very much a family business a small-brewery DNA. They brew great beer, period

And their festive new variety pack, which built their beloved winter seasonal, Mad Elf Ale a terrific assortment of holiday-tinged beers including two never-before exclusives.

“The Most Wonderful Beer of the Year’ variety pack is perfect for sharing at holiday gatherings, and it makes a great gift for beer-loving friends and family,” said Tröegs co-founding brother Chris Trogner. “There’s really something for everyone in this pack,” says “We’ve got a Tröegs beer for everyone at your holiday table!”

And here’s how Tröegs explains this year’s Mad Elf variations…

Mad Elf Ale
The holidays have officially arrived—Mad Elf is back. This iconic seasonal sipper blends sweet and tart cherries with Pennsylvania wildflower honey, rich chocolate malt and just a touch of mischief. Its ruby-red glow comes from five different varieties of tree-ripened cherries, while the Belgian yeast brings subtle hints of cinnamon, clove and allspice. It’s bold, festive and downright essential this time of year. Let’s be honest: the season doesn’t really start until your first Mad Elf.

Naked Elf
Think of it as Mad Elf without the winter sweater. Tröegs stripped away the cherries, honey and chocolate malt and left this holiday classic completely bare—just malt and yeast doing the heavy lifting. The result? A Belgian-style ale that leans into warm spice vibes with notes of cinnamon, allspice, clove and those tangy, fruity esters that give it character.

Mad Dreams
Born from a behind-the-scenes brewery experiment, Mad Dreams takes equal parts Mad Elf and DreamWeaver Wheat and blends them into one seriously festive pour. Picture the cherries and honey of Mad Elf meeting the soft clove and bready wheat of DreamWeaver—it’s like holiday magic in a glass. 50-50 split, 100% tasty.
Tasting notes: cherries, pound cake, subtle spices

Chocolate Elf
Feeling indulgent? Chocolate Elf turns things up a notch with a fusion of Grand Cacao Chocolate Stout and Mad Elf. Think creamy cacao and sweet cream mingling with Mad Elf’s signature cherry and hint of spice. The final effect is pure dessert-in-a-glass—basically a boozy chocolate-covered cherry.
