In a sure sign that COVID-19 might finally be behind us, one of the best professional beer events in the nation is ON.  Oktoberfest is also returning to Munich and all is right in the world.

Oktoberfest 2022 Returns To Munich

After a two year hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, Oktoberfest will finally be held in Munich this year for the first time since 2019.

“There will be an unrestricted [festival], which will hopefully give a lot of people a lot of pleasure,” Munich mayor Dieter Reiter said at a news conference on Friday according to Reuters. “I hope the situation does not get worse in the autumn and that the festival will not have to be called off at the last minute.”

After a prolonged period Germany finally dropped its nationwide mask mandate last month after two years of the policy being in place.

The 2022 Craft Beer Conference Rocks Minneapolis

Presented by the Brewers Association, the Craft Brewers Conference (CBC) is the world’s largest beer and brewing industry event that draws thousands of brewing professionals from all around the world and some of the biggest names in the biz.

And this year’ gathering (May 2-4), the biggest conference to hit the Minneapolis Convention Center since 2019, is projected to generate $12 million in direct spending locally, according to  Brewers Association.

The CBC will be the largest attended conference held at the convention center in 2022, according to the city’s tourism board, but visiting brewers are touring the entire region. The number of breweries in Minnesota has exploded from 39 in 2012 to more than 200 today so there’s plenty of places they’ll want to hit.

“The Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild coordinated six sold-out tours to breweries beyond the immediate metro, bringing CBC attendees as far as St. Cloud, New Ulm, Rochester and Stillwater,” reports the Minneapolis/St Paul Business Journal.

“Minnesota brewers are very excited to welcome their peers from around the world and show off everything that Minnesota, and our craft beer community, has to offer,” Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild Executive Director Jess Talley said.
