Guinness Brewery Named ‘World’s Leading Tourist Attraction’ for 2023

If you’ve ever visited the legendary Guinness Brewery at St. James’s Gate you understand why it’s a beloved Dublin institution…You might have ended your tour up in the Gravity Bar, which sits high atop of Guinness Storehouse and offers a spectacular view of the beautiful city (in addition to some hard to get beers).

And now the Guinness Storehouse has been named the ‘World’s Leading Tourist Attraction’ for 2023 at the World Travel Awards which were announced in Dubia on December 1st beating out the Grand Canyon, Machu Picchu and the Taj Mahal as the best place to hang. It also was named World’s Leading Beer Tour Visitor Experience 2023.

Housed at St. James’s Gate in the heart of Dublin’s Liberties neighborhood, the seven floors of the Guinness Storehouse were built through a €42 million redevelopment of a 113-year-old former Guinness fermentation plant. Since 2000, the Guinness Storehouse has continually been enhanced. Its panoramic Gravity Bar has more than doubled in size and continues to offer stunning views across the Dublin cityscape.

The Guinness Storehouse was already Ireland’s most visited attraction in 2016 with 1.6 million visitors having ended up at the Gravity Bar. To put things in perspective you have to consider that that’s about 200,000 more visitors than Ireland’s Cliffs of Moher, a spectacular setting where unfortunately you can’t get a beer.

Words to Drink By

”Yes, things are more challenging, but independent brewers still sell more than one out of eight beers in the United States.” – Bart Watson, chief economist, Brewers Association.

Kid Rock Done Boycotting Bud Light

These are polarizing times and  Bud Light has been facing a backlash following its partnership with Dylan Mulvaney, a transgender influencer whose image was put on a Bud Light can to celebrate “365 Days of Girlhood.”

, Beer News: Kid Rock Done Boycotting Bud Light / Guinness Brewery Named Best Tourist AttractionBud Light’s decision to showcase the Trans Tik Tok activist on a special can spurred a Boycott Bud Light! online campaign, a video of Kid Rock shooting up a bunch of bud light beer cans that went viral, and a huge surge in online interest in the Samuel Adams Beer.

Kid Rock hung in for a while but he told Tucker Carlson in a recent interview that he was done boycotting Bud Light and said the company has learned its lesson.

“They deserved a black eye, and they got one,” Rock told Carlson. “Do I want to hold their head under water and drown them because they made a mistake? No, I think they got the message.”

Rock thinks the company’s partial move from St. Louis to New York City played a role in the campaign, along with their hiring of “Ivy League, progressive people.”

“There’s nothing wrong with giving a spanking,” Rock said. “You don’t spank them for the rest of their life.”
