Anderson Valley Brewing Goes On The Market For $7.9 Million
Reflecting the tough economic times for craft brewers, Anderson Valley Brewing Company, one of the pioneers in the California craft brewing, is now up for sale according to BizQuest. A true heritage brewery, Anderson Valley was founded in 1987, one of 20 craft brewers in the nation at the time. And what started as a modest 10-barrel brewhouse located in the lower level of the Buckhorn Saloon in Boonville, CA, moved down the road to a 29-acre property with the production capacity of potentially 100,000 barrels.
Now on sale for $7,900,000, the brew-grounds also includes “beer park” developed to contain not only a tap room but a 10,000 sq ft lounge lawn, an unknown number of fairy doors hidden in tree trunks, an outdoor music stage and an 18-hole disc golf course.
Considered one of the industry’s “first-movers” when it comes to sustainable brewing, Anderson Valley is the world’s first solar powered brewery and operates its own self-contained water use and treatment cycle.

Osama Bin Lager Goes Viral
A UK brewer found itself embroiled in an international controversy when a picture of its Osama Bin Lager was posted on twitter which led to the beer selling out immediately and a viral meltdown that forced Mitchell Brewing to shut down its website.
“We’ve woken up the last couple of mornings with thousands and thousands and thousands of notifications,” Luke Mitchell, owner of the Mitchell Brewing Co in Billinghay, Lincolnshire, told the BBC of the insane demand. “The phone just hasn’t stopped for the last 48 hours.”
Part of the brewery’s Dictator Series which also includes Kim Jong Ale and Putin’s Porter, the controversially- named Osama Bin Lager’s tap artwork features a cartoonish caricature of the notorious Al Qaeda leader, who was responsible for the 9/11 attack and killed by Navy Seals in 2011.
