Renegade Brewing’s New Counter-Intuitive Expansion Plans (Denver, CO) – Ever since Renegade launched in 2011, the brewery has never taken a predictable route and according to Westword the company’s latest expansion plans are no different.

Renegade Brewing has decided to sell its relatively new $1.4 million, 15,000-square-foot production facility that it opened just three years ago so that it can focus on adding new taprooms in Colorado and out of state. Renegade will also be looking for a new production plant with cheaper rent, where it can make enough beer to supply grocery stores.

Words to Drink By (Denver, Co) “We want to go to a regional taproom model…We’re not looking to compete with the seventy taprooms that are already in Denver {and} looking for areas that don’t already have that many breweries…both inside and outside of Colorado.” –  Renegade co-founder Brian O’Connell.

Cervecería Colorado, which opened in May, is an impressive Denver craft brewery dedicated the traditions, flavors and culture of Mexico.  A spin-off of the Denver Beer Company, this uber-interesting operation traffics in Mexican ingredients, flavors, and processes to create innovative styles of beer. And many of those beers are collaborations with partners from south of the border.

Dos Luces Brewery is scheduled to open its doors in Denver later this summer. All their beers will be brewed from gluten-free ingredients, corn and aguamiel and other ingredients from the Americas.

Racies Brewing also hopes to open near Denver’s Mile High Stadium this summer. Latino-owned and inspired, the brewery’s goal is to tap into the largely underserved Latino craft beer consumer.
