What’s Brewed In Central Florida, Stays In Central Florida (Orlando, FL) – There are currently more than three dozen breweries in Central Florida. “But as the industry in Central Florida matures and owners look to expand, they are finding it difficult to find places beyond Central Florida to sell their six-packs,” according to the Orlando Sentinel.
It’s becoming increasingly difficult for Central Florida craft brewers to expand their base according to Brian Thompson, senior beer category manager for Orlando-based ABC Fine Wine and Spirits…
“A chain such as ABC carries beers from more than 100 breweries and many of those are locals such as Crooked Can and Orange Blossom Brewing. But those small breweries are also competing with the marketing power of large corporate brewers, as well as hundreds of craft brewers from across the nation, many of which have been in business for decades.”

San Diego Beer Week Is ON! (California) – San Diego Beer Week (SDBW) kicked off last Friday and rages on into Nov 11th. Presented annually by the San Diego Brewers Guild and partners like Lyft, this 10 day event is one of the most impressive beer weeks in the nation, and only a very few can compare with SDBW in scope or scale.
Special SDBW Collaboration Beer – As part of San Diego Beer Week, seven local brewers including Second Chance Beer Co., The Lost Abbey/Port Brewing, Thorn Brewing, Societe Brewing, Mother Earth Beer Co., Benchmark Brewing and Pure Project Brewing joined together to create a special draft-only release.
