The beer biz never sleeps at American Craft Beer. And here’s some of what’s been happening in the beer world, while you were drinking your way into another Monday.
Who’s A Good Dog? Who Wants A Beer? (Houston, TX) – Leading this weekend’s “content at any cost” stories is one that involves , Megan and Steve Long, a Houston couple who are the latest, but certainly not the only entrepreneurs who’ve launched a dog beer company…We’ve covered a lot of doggie beer startups, over the years and although were as thankful as anyone for beer-related content, we can’t help but wonder as to the concept’s staying power.
Good Boy Dog Beer combines good smart pet nutrition (there’ no alcohol in these doggie beers) with attention getting name like IPA Lot in the Yard and you just want to wish them the best…The couple is currently working with an Austin canning company to package their beers, which sell for around $5 each at 15 bars around Houston.
Words To Drink By (Bloomington, IN) – “Everyone likes the idea of having a beer with their dog” – Steve Long Co-Founder, Good Boy Dog Beer
Is Anaheim On Its Way To Becoming A Craft Beer Disneyland? (California) – With 15 breweries now open and another 6 in development, the city that was once only known as the birthplace of The Magic Kingdom is fast earning serious craft beer cred and it’s revitalizing the city’s urban center at the same time.
With the help of attractive citywide incentives, the Anaheim is becoming California’s fastest-growing center for craft brewers and changing neighborhood dynamics. Under the city’s new rules “a brewer who plans to operate a 750-square-foot tasting room with a patio area of 1,000 square feet or less can proceed without a public hearing or planning commission approval.,” according to the Orange County Register
Anaheim, with a population of 352,497 as of 2017, is now home half of all the breweries in Orange County, California. And there’s 21 new breweries soon to open in the city.
And with millions of visitors pouring into the city each year to visit such destinations as Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, Angel Stadium, Honda Center and Anaheim Convention Center, those new breweries can’t open soon enough!
